Images & Design tool
SVG Optimiser
Optimise a static SVG privately in your browser. Compare original and optimised previews, see exact file-size savings and keep control of metadata and comments.
A smaller SVG, with its sharp edges intact
Choose a logo or vector graphic. Compare the result before downloading. Your file stays in this browser.
Up to 1 MB. Static shapes, text, gradients and clipping paths. Scripts, external resources, filters, embedded images, animation and reusable symbols are not supported.
Unnecessary markup spacing and supported editor data are cleaned automatically. Shapes, numerical precision, colours, IDs, viewBox, titles and descriptions are kept. Optional cleanup can remove author or licence information—keep anything your licence requires. Protected licence comments may remain.
Processed privately in your browser — your entries are not uploaded.
Good to know
How this tool works
Choose a static SVG, select optional cleanup and optimise. Compare both previews and byte counts before downloading. Conservative cleanup preserves shapes, precision, IDs and scaling; files are processed locally with no uploads.
Frequently asked questions
What is SVG Optimiser useful for?
Reduce SVG markup and compare your graphic before downloading. Inspect the full-size result rather than relying only on the preview, particularly around fine edges and text.
Is my information stored?
Your text is processed locally in a browser worker. It is not uploaded by this tool or saved in browser storage. Clear releases the working input and result. Downloads remain in your normal download folder.
Will my graphic look exactly the same?
Cleanup preserves shapes, numerical precision, colours, IDs, viewBox, titles and descriptions. Always compare the previews and check the download in its intended app. Text can look different when the required font is not installed. No saving is guaranteed for an already compact SVG.
Why was my SVG rejected?
This version supports static shapes, text, gradients and clipping paths. It rejects scripts, external resources, stylesheets, embedded images, filters, animation, reusable symbols, DOCTYPE declarations and unsupported attributes. Export a plain static SVG from your drawing app. Files are limited to 1 MB, 10,000 nodes and 50 nested levels.
What happens to authorship and copyright?
Document metadata and comments are kept by default. Optional removal can delete author or licence information, so retain anything required by your licence. Supported editor data is removed automatically. We do not replace the graphic owner with our name or add website branding.
What powers the optimisation?
We use a conservative selection of SVGO browser features, with separate input and output checks. Optimisation is not a general-purpose security or privacy guarantee.
